By partnering with companies using cutting edge tech to craft new fabrics, they developed new fabrics that are environmentally friendlier, more waterproof, breathable, and stronger. All the products are made from a minimum average of 50% recycled, organic, bio-sourced, or recovered materials. They are produced with eco-friendly chemicals in closed looped systems. This, along with their B-Corp certification and partnership with Fair Wear Foundation, demonstrates the brand being a “Business for Good” with a commitment to sustainability and transparency.

Saola has been on a similar path for footwear. Founded by Guillaume, who, after spending 10 years living in Boulder, CO working in the outdoor industry, packed up the family and moved back to his native France to start this new venture. Coincidentally, he happened to place his office just across the road from the Picture offices in Lake Annecy, and therefore the ranges complement each other nicely.

It’s here that he and his team spent time researching sustainable footwear solutions, and the end result is shoes made from recycled PET bottles, BloomFoam, organic cotton, and cork. Saola shoes are the epitome of lightweight and comfortable – so light on you, and light on the planet.
